L'APPROCHE

« L’Approche » is a curatorial and prospective proposal open to the diversity of today's practices and dedicated to the artistic scene, as the artists themselves see it. It was founded in Paris in 2015 and installed in Bruxelles in 2016.

« L’Approche » refers to the discipline of work to which Gérard Gasiorowski committed himself from 1965 to 1969, which was followed by the experimental opening of the 1970s - 1986. This last period offers a magnificent introduction to the diversity of contemporary practices, in painting and beyond the image.

Molenbeek-Saint-Jean / Sint-Jans-Molenbeek

Built on different rivers, it owes its name to the mills that were located there. Molenbeek, one of the nineteen communes that make up Brussels, is an old farming village that has been industrialised since the beginning of the 19th century. From the seventies onwards, deindustrialisation oriented economic activity towards the tertiary sector. Long underestimated, the converted urban architectural heritage nevertheless offers vast spaces suitable for administrations, renovated housing, small businesses and artists' studios.
